In 1979 Darryl Meyer began his career in the landscape field. He quickly grew a love for the job and in 2 years started his own Landscape business. The company at that time was called Classic Design Landscapes (CDL) and was licensed with the Registrar of Contractors. Most of CDL’s work was in the Tucson foothills in both the residential and the commercial sectors.
In 1989 IBM, Hughes Aircraft, and Pulte Homes shut their doors in the Tucson area. These businesses hurt many employed Tucson residents. Darryl’s main contact was a VP for Pulte Homes who urged Darryl to consider a move to Michigan where Pulte Homes headquarters were located. Darryl moved the company to Michigan and since became DCJ and Associates Inc. and licensed with the state of Michigan, further becoming a registered union (grader and landscape union) Landscape contractor.
DCJ continued to work with Pulte Homes and expanded even further in their commercial work. DCJ provided complete landscape on new construction projects with no subcontractors within their broad field of expertise. This broad range of work included projects from retail centers, subdivision entrances, common grounds, golf course, utility easements, and custom residential work from design through installation.
In 2007 Darryl’s love for the West and his family prompted a move back to Tucson, Arizona. Darryl straight away secured a legal name for DCJ and Associates Inc. and once again acquired two licenses with the Registrar of Contractors; class A-21 (#243384) and class C-21 (#243385).
DCJ currently is providing landscape services in both commercial as well as custom residential. There is no job too big or too small
as DCJ has performed work ranging from $2,000.00 to $160,000.00 in the residential field and $4,000.00 to $500,000.00 in the commercial field.
